Mosquito sample tests positive for West Nile virus in Denton

A sampling of mosquitoes from a trap on Mockingbird Lane tested positive for West Nile virus final week, the city of Denton announced Friday. The mosquito trap was on the northwest side of the city on Mockingbird among Mingo Road & Stockton Road, according to a city break news release. "This is the premier sample which has tested positive for West Nile virus in the City of Denton this year," Deborah Viera, the city's helper director of environmental services, said in the release.
