Hidalgo County Health Officals Look into Zika Case in McAllen - according to : rgvproud

MCALLEN, Texas - Hidalgo County Health Officials continue to look for more possible cases of Zika in McAllen, after a local case was reported. A press conference with county health officials is scheduled for an update on the case. Health officials are still not sure how the person got infected with the disease. Health officials are also planning more spraying later in the week. The city of McAllen is not taking any risks with this case and they've set mosquito traps in the area where the case was reported.



Hidalgo County Health Officals Look into Zika Case in McAllen -
MCALLEN, Texas - Hidalgo County Health Officials are determining how a McAllen resident contracted the Zika virus. County health officials and the city of McAllen are teaming up to prevent a Zika outbreak, after a resident tested positive for the virus last week. Josh Ramirez - McAllen Health Director said, "We want to assure the citizens that we've been proactive and controlling the mosquitoes. Health officials in McAllen, are not taking any risks with this recent case, and have decided to test mosquitoes all around the city. The city of McAllen will be spraying for mosquitoes in several areas of town, including the section where the person was diagnosed.
