(WPRI) — The Rhode Island Department of Health on Tuesday confirmed the state's first human case of West Nile virus in 2016.According to health officials, the 49-year-old Pawtucket resident was diagnosed on Aug. 12 with meningoencephalitis caused by West Nile virus.The resident was admitted to Rhode Island Hospital that day and was released on Aug. 23 after recovering.
