Teen inmate raped & infective by HIV virus at Louisiana jail – grievance
A Louisiana sheriff & 2 jail staff have been shock by a federal grievance after a teen inmate was moved away from the juvenile unit & subsequently raped by an adult cellmate who infective him by HIV virus. The grievance, filed Monday, accuses East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff Sid Gautreaux, prison warden Dennis Grimes, & a corrections officer by the name of Deputy Daniels of assaulting the teen's constitutional rights. On February 16, 2017, the teen was announclyawakened by the rape & was threatened to not speak about the incident. The young inmate suffered a fractured bone during the incident & was treated at a native infirmary. He was given anti-HIV virus therapy, & the infirmary told him to follow up in 6 months to Analysis if he was infective.
