Mosquito sample tests positive for West Nile virus in Denton

A sampling of mosquitoes from a trap on Mockingbird Lane tested positive for West Nile virus final week, the city of Denton announced Friday. The mosquito trap was on the northwest side of the city on Mockingbird among Mingo Road & Stockton Road, according to a city break news release. "This is the premier sample which has tested positive for West Nile virus in the City of Denton this year," Deborah Viera, the city's helper director of environmental services, said in the release. City of Denton Composting, 1100 S. Mayhill Road in the Pecan Creek Water Reclamation Facility, seven a.m. to three p.m. Tuesday out of Saturday. Lambton province inhabitant approved by West Nile virus

A Lambton province inhabitant has tested positive for the West Nile virus (WNV). Two positive mosquito pools in Wyoming & Petrolia & a WNV positive bird in Sarnia were found earlier in the season.
