Prince Philip Hospitalized At 96 With Severe Infection according to : Radar

Prince Philip has been hospitalized due to a nasty infection, RadarOnline.com can report. Queen Elizabeth's private secretary revealed that Prince Philip "has decided that he will no longer carry out public engagements from the autumn of this year. As Radar previously reported, Philip has suffered several illness in recent years, but he has always bounced back to stand by the Queen's side. In December, however, the pair canceled public appearances after they both came down with severe colds. Update (June 21, 2017, 3:20 P.M.): Buckingham Palace has announced that Prince Philip will remain in the hospital overnight but is in good spirits. The State Opening of Parliament took place Wednesday, and Prince Charles attended with his mother in his father's place, per The Telegraph. Prince Philip, 96, was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in London on Tuesday to be treated for an infection that has resulted from a pre-existing condition, Buckingham Palace announced on Wednesday. Charles has reportedly accompanied his mother to the State Opening twice, in 1994 and 1996. The Duchess of Cambridge, sporting a white high-necked Alexander McQueen dress not unlike Audrey Hepburn's Royal Ascot dress from My Fair Lady—and Prince William also joined the festivities.

"Prince Philip is in good spirits and is disappointed to be missing the State Opening of Parliament and Royal Ascot," the statement said. "Her Majesty is being kept informed" of her husband's health "and will attend Royal Ascot as planned," the statement said. She was later due to attend the horse racing at Royal Ascot, Berkshire. She will be accompanied at the opening of parliament by her son and heir to the British throne, Prince Charles.
