Human Rights Campaign : declared in National Women & Girls HIV & AIDS Awareness Day 2017

Today marks National Women & Girls HIV & AIDS Awareness Day, an opportunity to focus our attention on the impact of HIV and AIDS on women and girls in the United States. Campaign aims to raise HIV and AIDS awareness among women and girls through a special day

A campaign is working to draw attention to the importance of testing for women, avoiding denial and overcoming stigma associated with HIV on Friday, which is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day. Today, stigma and denial remain a part of what someone faces when diagnosed as HIV-positive, especially among women, Dennis said. "I've had young women tell me that they didn't think they could get it," Dennis said. To that end, people like Dennis are working to draw attention to the importance of testing for women, avoiding denial and overcoming stigma associated with HIV on Friday, which is National Women and Girls HIV/AIDS Awareness Day.
