According to the school district, 148 students were absent from Dodgen Middle School Tuesday. Per Cobb County Health: 20+ have the flu @wsbtv pic.twitter.com/FZr6E09RV8 — Chris Jose (@ChrisJoseWSB) March 28, 2017Per Cobb County Health: 14% of student body was out last week at McClure Middle (100+ students). The Cobb County health department said more than 20 of those students have the flu. Can also confirm crews are sanitizing all areas of Dodgen Middle School.

Tipton said the school is working with the Health Department and following their guidelines, but they're not shutting down the school. State health officials advise the following to avoid spreading the flu: Superintendent Tony Tipton said Burnsville Elementary had 36 students out sick with the flu on Tuesday.
