37 New Jersey patients infected after injections for knee pain
UPDATE: New Jersey health officials have identified six additional patients who became infected after receiving injections to treat knee pain at a clinic in Wall Township, Monmouth County, bringing the total to 37. A former math teacher and engineering major, he was hired in 1998, and previously covered environmental issues and New Jersey state government. The investigation involves the Health Department, the state Division of Consumer Affairs, and the Monmouth County Regional Health Commission. Osteo Relief voluntarily stopped administering injections on March 8 and has sent notification letters to patients who were treated this month, the Health Department said. The health department urges people who received an injection between Sept. 1, 2016, and March 6 who now have joint pain, swelling or a fever to go to the emergency room and also call the department of health.
