Tole Do Blade : declared in Region’s flu season likely has peaked

The annual flu season appears to have peaked in recent weeks. Flu season is generally considered October through May. The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department reported 142 flu-associated hospitalizations in the county from the beginning of the season through Wednesday, department spokesman Shannon Lands said. The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department offers a walk-in flu shot clinic 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays at its downtown location, 635 N. Erie St. The health department still has available flu shots for children, adults, and the elderly, Ms. Lands said, although some private doctors and pharmacies have run out.


3 new flu related deaths; season may have peaked

All of the 2016-2017 season flu related deaths have occurred in adults. HELENA – The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services reports another three flu related deaths. Despite the recent deaths, it's reported that the flu season has possibly peaked. The number of flu cases reported statewide dropped for the second consecutive week. For the week ending Feb. 18, the state saw 576 cases, 100 less cases from the previous week.
