"We see flu cases up until April," said Gerson. He said after you get the vaccine, it can take up to 2 weeks for the flu shot to be effective. Dr. David Gerson, a family doctor with Baptist Health, said that he has seen an upswing in flu cases over the last few weeks in the Natural State.
