A star of the BBC crime series Death in Paradise has disclosed that he contracted Zika while making the programme in the Caribbean.Tony Gardner, said it was possible that "quite a lot" of the 265 British travellers known to have been infected with the virus may have been involved with the programme, the Daily Telegraph reported.Gardner, who originally trained as a doctor, said has even been discussion about carrying out a study of the cast and crew to help understand the disease, which is spread by mosquitoes, better.

TV comedy actor Tony Gardner has revealed he contracted the Zika virus while filming hit BBC show Death In Paradise.The Fresh Meat and Thick of It star claimed the popular crime drama, which is filmed on the Guadeloupe Islands in the Caribbean, could be linked to "quite a lot" of the UK's 265 Zika cases.He told the Sean Hughes podcast he was shooting a guest role on the show when he was bitten by an infected mosquito.
