Chennai: Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DML) President M Karunanidhi was admitted to Kauvery Hospital again on Thursday night due to throat and lung infection, said the hospital.In a statement issued in Chennai, the hospital said Karunanidhi was readmitted with breathing difficulty due to throat and lung infection."The treatment has been initiated to clear his infection.

Hospitals are so full in the winter months, a shortage of beds is increasing the risk of infection, research from a health charity is claiming.The Nuffield Trust claims more than 95 per cent of the county's hospital beds were in use every day across Lincolnshire last winter.And the bed shortage experienced in hospitals is causing a risk of infection to patients.

Chennai, December 16Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief M Karunanidhi was admitted to Kauvery hospital in Chennai on Thursday night after he complained of difficulty in breathing.The hospital issued a statement saying Karunanidhi was readmitted with breathing difficulty due to throat and lung infection, adding that he was stable and being treated.(Follow The Tribune on Facebook; and Twitter @thetribunechd)Karunanidhi's daughter and Rajya Sabha MP from Tamil Nadu Kanimozhi told ANI that Karunanidhi had some lung infection and breathing difficulty, adding that he was much better now.
