FDA researchers have developed a mouse model that may help in investigating the potential activity of Zika virus vaccines and therapeutics.The research, published in PLoS Pathogens, describes a neonatal mouse model that uses the C57BL/6 mouse strain.Investigators determined that neonatal mice of this strain are susceptible to Zika and develop neurological symptoms 12 days after infection.
