Babies born after a mother's exposure to the Zika virus can appear to be healthy at birth yet still be damaged by the infection months later, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced.Until this latest round of research on the emerging illness, it was thought the virus caused birth defects that were evident at birth.The latest look at 13 Brazilian babies in the months after their births showed even the babies with normal-size heads could still have a brain that failed to develop properly, leading to a smaller cranium by the time they reached the age of one.
