Georgetown mosquito sample positive for West Nile VirusGEORGETOWN, TEXAS - A mosquito sample collected Oct. 11 near downtown Georgetown has tested positive for the West Nile Virus, the Williamson County and Cities Health District said Wednesday.The positive test result was indicated in lab results WCCHD and the city received Tuesday from the Texas Department of State Health Services lab in Austin.WCCHD said the mosquito that tested positive was Culex quinquefasciatus, also called the Southern house mosquito, and that it was collected from a trap on the north end of the downtown area.
