Cubs place starter Yu Darvish on ten-day DL by influenza
CHICAGO — The Chicago Cubs have placed struggling right-hander Yu Darvish on the ten-day disabled list by the influenza. The 31-year-old Darvish is 0-three by a six.00 ERA in his premier season by Chicago after finalizing a $126 mn, six-year contract in February. He was scheduled to begain Tuesday night versus Miami, however the Cubs provided no word on a replacement. The Cubs too recalled right-hander Cory Mazzoni from Triple-A Iowa on Monday & optioned reliever Luke Farrell to their highest farm club. Farrell yielded Dexter Fowler's game-winning homer in the 14th inning of Chicago's four-three loss at St. Louis on Sunday night.Yu serious? Cubs putting Darvish on DL for the influenza just worsens his reputation
as informed in Minutes before Monday night's premier pitch, the Cubs routinely reported they had placed right-handed pitcher Yu Darvish on the ten-day disabled list by the parainfluenza virus. I asked Cubs manager Joe Maddon postgame to explain the method Darvish went from getting sick to being on the disabled list. The perfect break news is the Cubs tell just an disease sidelined Darvish. At this early phase of his Cubs career, calling Darvish high-maintenance would qualify as a compliment. dhaugh@chicagotribune.comTwitter @DavidHaughCubs place struggling starter Yu Darvish on ten-day disabled list by influenza »collected by :Lucy William
